Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Cashier aide/help licensed pharmacists with administrative duties in running a pharmacy. Aides often are clerks or cashiers who primarily answer telephones, handle money, stock shelves, and perform other clerical duties. He/she will work closely with pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy technicians usually perform more complex tasks than do cashiers/aides, although in some States the duties and titles of the jobs overlap. 

Essential Functions:

  • Answer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist. 
  • Check for outdated medications
  • Check in orders from wholesalers
  • Assist patients to ring out sales at POS
  • Make bank deposits

Job Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred
  • One year of retail pharmacy preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician registration/certification as required by state regulations preferred
