Located in Belleville, Clara Maass Medical Center is a facility of RWJBarnabas Health and provides a complete continuum of care to residents of northern New Jersey. Our facility includes centers for advanced wound care, sleep disorders, bariatric, orthopedics cardiac services, cancer care, emergency services, and more. In 2017,  the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32-bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area, and a recently expanded Emergency Department.

Clara Maass Medical Center has been recognized nationally for its quality and patient safety by Healthgrades and by The Leapfrog Group, having earned its twelfth Grade A in 2019. We are currently looking for a distribution professional to supervise our receiving staff in the daily operations of the department. The incumbent will also be responsible for shipping, receiving, and distributing all items coming into and leaving the Clara Maass Medical Center, and will maintain the Materials Management computer system for the accurate receipt of all materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all storeroom personnel in the day-to-day operations of the receiving and storeroom departments.
  • Ensure workflow is timely and meets department needs.
  • Confer with purchasing daily to ensure accurate and expedient delivery of the product.
  • Order department supplies as needed maintaining appropriate levels within budgetary constraints.
  • Operate and maintains in good repair all department equipment and supplies.
  • Document all receipts and outgoing shipments.
  • Receive, verifies and processes all items coming into the Medical Center. Maintains Materials Management computer system in Storeroom.
  • Deliver small portable oxygen tanks to all nursing units and ancillary departments throughout the day.
  • Deliver large oxygen tanks to Pathology, SDS, Emergency Department, and Food Services throughout the day.
  • Perform a weekly oxygen inventory for order placement by Respiratory. Tag all incoming full oxygen tanks label indicating full capacity.
  • Distribute all incoming products from Cardinal Health/Valuelink daily to designated departments following the purchase order.
  • Complete the PeopleSoft “Put Away” process for Storeroom perpetual inventory.
  • Maintain a tissue tracking log following Joint Commission standards and regulations for human and nonhuman cellular-based transplantable and implantable products.
  • Handle telephone information inquiries/requests with courtesy and accuracy.
  • Sign for UPS, FedEx, Fed EX Ground, and all other courier deliveries, break down skids, arranges and number packages/boxes and corresponding packing slips, and enter receipt data in the Materials Management computer system.
  • Deliver all products to appropriate departments and receives confirmation signature of receipt.
  • Cover all Mailroom responsibilities in the absence of the Mailroom Attendant.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Two to three years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Computer skills are desirable.
  • Able to use computers to enter information.
  • An effective communicator.
  • The ability to connect with various types of patients (such as children, elderly, pregnant women) and make them feel comfortable.
